Salem, MA -- The Moulton for Congress campaign announced today that it raised $251,813 in the fourth quarter, for a total of $607,355 raised since July 2013. Ninety-eight percent of Moulton’s contributions came from individual donors. Nationally, only one Democratic challenger has raised more this election cycle.
"I am humbled by the support I have received from members of this community," said Seth Moulton, Iraq war veteran and Democratic candidate for Congress in Massachusetts' sixth congressional district. "It's clear that from Lynn to Peabody to Billerica to Amesbury, people are tired of the gridlock down in D.C. We need a new generation of leaders who will fight to change how Congress does business. I will work hard to earn the support of families in our district and be that agent of change."
OpenSecrets.org reports that on average, incumbent members of Congress raised $577,948 last year and challengers raised $117,369.
