Letter: Moulton one of our 'best and brightest'

In my opinion, the most serious problem in our government today is the quality of the people we send to represent us in Washington. Frankly, we don’t send our best and brightest. Occasionally, someone with talent and ability stands up and says, “Send me!” This year, one of our own, Seth Moulton, stood up. I’m glad he did, and I’m voting for Seth. Why?

Clearly, Seth is one of our best and brightest. He’s very well educated, experienced, smart and savvy. But most importantly, he’s committed to service over self! It’s one thing to talk a good game but quite another to do it, to lead the way when others just sit on the sidelines and watch.

Seth did it. He took action. He went to the “sound of the guns.” Four tours in Iraq is above and beyond the call of duty. And I’m sure he would do it again if called. Now he is called to represent us in Washington. He has the credentials and an understanding of the dangerous world in which we live. I’m convinced he will make it happen and make it better — for the district and our world! Join me and vote for Seth.

Lt. Gen. Robert E. Kelley, U.S. Air Force (retired), Andrews Lane
