The Environment

Climate change is one of the most important global issues we face today. It is Congress’ job to ensure that the US is taking an active role in advancing a strong agenda to mitigate climate change and its effects. Massachusetts’ 6th District voters have long been advocates for environmental issues, and I am committed to working with leaders in both the House and Senate, including Senators Ed Markey and Sheldon Whitehouse, toward a cleaner and healthier future. Doing so is good for our country, good for our children and grandchildren, and good for our economy.

Smart, effective regulations that lessen greenhouse gas pollution while holding companies accountable for environmental harm can be designed to encourage economic growth. Environmentalists and businesses do not have to be at odds with one another. With the proper structures and incentives, businesses should be advocates for environmental stewardship and innovation, and that will create a safer, healthier environment for us all.
